Humdinger by Scott Lane Boat Builders

HUMDINGER

Humdinger really showcases the flexibility of the great mid-pilothouse design. She’s a mid-pilothouse with a difference, the difference being that she is set up for serious big game fishing yet still offers the great cruising attributes of the mid-pilot house design.

Her cockpit is massive and uncluttered. There are custom made rod holders in the aft end of the coaming for ‘clearing the gear’ while a fish is being played. There is also a large freezer/ slurry bin in the cockpit sole, pull out tackle drawers under the BBQ, a large live bait tank and tuna tubes.

The bridge features an aft helm station to enable the skipper full view of the cockpit. The port seating in this area lifts on gas stays to house ten plus 50 wide -80 wide game rods and reels. Humdinger’s master cabin and en suite come day head is aft to port opposite this is the galley which is enormous. Forward of the galley is the saloon and dining table. Again this area is spacious and wide.

Moving forward from the saloon area there is another generous head to port and two bunks to starboard. It is this starboard cabin that houses the door to access the engine room. The forward cabin is home to 3 bunks with drawers and a cupboard to starboard.

Humdinger is a great example of her owners knowing what they wanted in their boat and having features and spaces custom built by Scott Lane Boatbuilders to suit their requirements. She is beautifully finished in traditional teak which complements her modern natural interior colour scheme.

She's a Humdinger

The new Elite 15.5m from Bill Upfold is part game-fisher, part-luxury family cruiser. "She's a hard-out sportfisher from the rear bulkhead aft to the boarding platform, but a comfortable, practical family cruiser forward."
